I was so pleased to be able to talk earlier this week with Sue Monk Kidd about her bestselling book club favorite The Secret Life of Bees and its upcoming translation to the big screen. It was wonderful to hear from her about her experience on the film set, working with the screenwriter, watching the story that sprang from her imagination be transformed into an actual set and her characters inhabited by real people. Win Tickets to Advance Screenings of The Secret Life of Bees!

Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees has been a reading group staple since it was first published and this fall the book is getting the big screen treatment in an adaptation starring Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Sophie Okonedo. I'm so excited to announce that I have screening passes to The Secret Life of Bees to give away in select markets!

To enter, go to the official movie website to view The Secret Life of Bees movie trailer and come back here to Book Club Girl to answer the following question in the comments: “What color dress is June (Alicia Keys) wearing when Neil (Nate Parker) proposes to her?”

Along with your answer, indicate which city from the below list you're entering. Only one city per entry! And make sure you're free on the dates indicated below before you enter as the screenings only happen on those days. All comments need to be made by 12 noon EST on Thursday, October 9th.

I will then draw one winner per city from all the entries received and one winner in each city will get 2 seats (for you and a guest) at an advance screening of The Secret Life of Bees, in theaters October 17th. One Grand Prize Winner will also receive a prize pack containing an autographed copy of The Secret Life of Bees, a poster, and film promotional items.
