Look for Live Broadcasts from Book Group Expo This Weekend!

This weekend is the third annual Book Group Expo and we'll be reporting live from the show with Book Club Girl on Air radio interviews with Marisa de los Santos (Love Walked In and Belong to Me), Diane Hammond (Hannah's Dream), Diana Spechler (Who By Fire) and Garth Stein (The Art of Racing in the Rain)! Look for interviews to be posted throughout the weekend as well as guest posts from these authors and more including Joshua Henkin, author of Matrimony. If any of you are heading to BGE, I'd love to hear from you too. I alas, won't be going, due to being quite pregnant at this point, but my colleague Nicole will be there representing Book Club Girl, visiting with authors like Brunonia Barry (The Lace Reader) and Masha Hamilton (The Camel Bookmobile), and holding a raffle, so look for her table in the Marketplace. We'll also hear from Carol Fitzgerald, founder of ReadingGroupGuides.com. I can't wait to hear about all the goings on! 

New York Times Notable Book of the Year Matrimony is Now in Paperback - Enter to Win a Signed Copy -- Not to Mention Cheesecake!

When it was published in hardcover last year, Joshua Henkin's Matrimony was named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, a Book Sense Pick and a Borders Original Voices selection. The novel, about two men--Carter and Julian--from completely different pasts, who meet in college and set their sights on the same woman, is just out in paperback. Matrimony tells the story of Julian and Mia's marriage over the course of 20 years, including Carter's return to their life, and the upheaval his return brings to them all. No less a literary lion than Michael Cunningham praised Matrimony saying, "In the tradition of John Cheever and Richard Yates ... a novel about love, hope, delusion, and the intricate ways in which time's passage raises us up even as it grinds us down. It's a beautiful book."

As you can imagine, Matrimony is a great book for book group discussion and Henkin totally gets book groups.
