Hello Book Club Girl readers. As most of you know, Book Club Girl is on a semi-hiatus during her maternity leave. You'll be hearing from her periodically but she's asked some of her pals to help her out to keep the blog fresh everyday while she navigates diapers and sleepless nights. So herewith, my first guest post.--AB Book clubs made the "Style" section of the New York Times yesterday but not exactly in a glowing way. The article, "Fought Over Any Good Books Lately?" addresses the disappointment we sometimes face when a book club doesn't meet our expectations. Maybe the group reads chick lit and you want to read the classics. Perhaps what you really want is a social network rather than a discussion on character development. Or maybe everyone in the group talks about their partners and children and you happen to be single. Whatever the reason may be, it's no secret that some of us have had to part ways with our book club. We want to hear your book club breakup stories. Post a comment about your book club split and we'll draw five winners from all of the comments received by midnight EST on Wednesday, December 12th to receive a complimentary copy of Friend or Frenemy: A Guide to the Friends You Need and the Ones You Don't by Andrea Lavinthal and Jessica Rozler.
