Discovered Maisie about two years ago and read all of them back to back. Love the stories and her positive attitude. Yeah for Independent women.

Yeah, another Masie!

Ready to tune in.

Barbara Rockstroh Hansen

I have never read her, but after looking at the synopses, I will add to my "to read" list!

Hurray! LOVE Maisie, although I have some catching up to do! I will do it though! :-) Thanks for offering these great chances to participate too. Appreciated!

Amy N

Waiting for #10 with baited breath. Looking forward to Maisie's latest adventures.

Maxine Vasquez

Think I'll join Barb, our librarian, while we have a cuppa and chat about our mutual friend, Maise Dobbs.

Have missed Maisie!! Read all Jacqueline Winspear's books -- enjoyed them all. Happy Maisie Month!

Colleen Downie

Only in the last two months have I discovered the Maise Dobb's series and I am so glad I did. What a great writer and storyteller Ms Winspear is. I have giggled, cried, laughed and wished I could meet Maise. I feel like I am there with her in London. I am on the 4th book in this series and I have loved every book so far. Jacqueline Winspear is my new favorite writer!!
Thank you!! Would love to me Jacqueline, too. I have so many questions for her about her stories.

Marilyn Mills

Love this series and am so looking forward to the new book.

Helen Holden

I'll try to make reading this book last more than one day! Last book I used my willpower and spread reading it over two days!!

I really like this site. You write about very interesting things. Thanks for all your tips and information.

Who is Book Club Girl?

  • Book Club Girl is: a member of a book club and an avid reader who spent most of her childhood immersed in a book, an English major who considered library school until she realized it was all about computers, so turned to publishing, where she now works (but she vows to talk about books from all over and not to simply flog those from her own house). She was single, lived in the city, met a man, moved to the 'burbs, and is now a wife, a stepmother, a mother, and in her spare time, a fledgling blogger dedicated to sharing great books, news and tips with book club girls everywhere.

My Review Policy

  • I review fiction and nonfiction that is appropriate for book clubs. This includes literary and some women's commercial fiction as well as memoir and narrative nonfiction. I do not review self-help, thrillers, mysteries, horror, or fantasy. I have a fondness for YA literature and while the blog is not devoted to it (well, except for my obsession with the Betsy-Tacy series), I will occasionally review some YA books. The best way to reach me to request a review is to email me at bookclubgirl AT gmail DOT com.
