I'm so sad I didn't get to participate in this show. I loved the book and had some questions I wanted to ask. Oh well, I'll listen tonight. Maybe my questions were asked by someone else.

I too missed out on this - on vacation in northern WI and power went out from the monster windstorm plowing through Wisconsin. I LOVED the book so much - it was one I hated to put down anytime I HAD to put it down. As a person who's fought through depression a few times, I had to keep reminding myself during the book of the time period and even though the father wouldn't be in the running for father of the year, he did the best he could with his wife and kids? I thought maybe it would have been better to get help for the mother much sooner than later. Sooner than her locking herself in the basement willingly? Thank you again for the book!

Thank you so much, I plan on listening tomorrow. I have to tell you how much I love the radio show. What a treat it is to not only hear author's talk about their books but to ask them the questions I long to ask while reading.

Who is Book Club Girl?

Book Club Girl is: a member of a book club and an avid reader who spent most of her childhood immersed in a book, an English major who considered library school until she realized it was all about computers, so turned to publishing, where she now works (but she vows to talk about books from all over and not to simply flog those from her own house). She was single, lived in the city, met a man, moved to the 'burbs, and is now a wife, a stepmother, a mother, and in her spare time, a fledgling blogger dedicated to sharing great books, news and tips with book club girls everywhere.

My Review Policy

I review fiction and nonfiction that is appropriate for book clubs. This includes literary and some women's commercial fiction as well as memoir and narrative nonfiction. I do not review self-help, thrillers, mysteries, horror, or fantasy. I have a fondness for YA literature and while the blog is not devoted to it (well, except for my obsession with the Betsy-Tacy series), I will occasionally review some YA books.
