What a great long weekend-yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Adriana Trigiani's World's Biggest Book Club which was a lavish brunch put on at the Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh NJ. The turnout was amazing and we were able to live stream (nearly all) of the event as well! As soon as that footage is up, we'll post it here because if you missed it, you missed a very good time. Adriana was in top form, and had the crowd laughing hysterically during her talk - which, as one fan wryly noted when she asked a question about how much editing is required on her books, was full of (wildly entertaining) digressions. There were books for sale, door prizes, giveaways and everyone had a chance to meet and chat with Adriana. A wonderful event from start to finish.
Tomorrow I head up to my parents' house in NH with the little ones because on Tuesday, at the Wellesley Booksmith in Wellesley, MA, there's an Edwardian Tea Party Celebrating the Betsy-Tacy reissues! The party is being hosted by Jennifer Davis-Kay, one of the brains behind last summer's Betsy-Tacy Convention, winner of the Convention Essay Contest for her impassioned essay about one Tacy Kelly, and quite frankly, one of the funniest women I've ever met (don't believe me? Ask Dawn at She is Too Fond of Books). The tea party starts at 2 pm, and it's school vacation week in Massachusetts so it should be a perfect way to spend the afternoon on your own or with your daughter (ages 5-14 and up!). We'll be eating cupcakes, making scrapbooks and calling cards and more! I'll be there with 3 generations of my family in tow, and also have some of my college and high school friends attending with their daughters. I'm also excited to visit Wellesley Booksmith for the first time, as I've always loved Brookline Booksmith and am eager to see their newest outpost. Hope to see some of you NH and MA readers there! And if you're in the New England area and can't make it but want to know more about the New Betsys, NE Women who love YA lit, let me know and I'll get you in touch with them!

We have our mother/daughter book group on Tuesday and will be discussing our 4th Betsy/Tacy -- Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown. Our third grade daughters have LOVED these books!

Seeing Adriana's #wbbcat on the laptop was wonderful - what an enthusiastic speaker/presenter she is!
Oh, yes, my 7-year-old daughter and I plan to be in Wellesley for the tea on Tuesday. She plans to wear her "church dress" ... whatever that means! :)

I saw most of the World's Biggest Bookclub, but then it stopped streaming for me. Is it going to be archived anywhere?

Thanks so much for watching Kathy! and yes, we're going to have an archived file to post, hopefully no later than Tuesday. I'll post it here, tweet it and we'll have Adriana put it on her site as well. It was so much fun. I couldn't believe how many people were there!

A pity you couldn't start your drive north on Sunday so as to join us at Judith's. The teens and preteen in attendance would have been perfect babysitters. Another time!
