Those of you who have spent any time in the blogosphere know Ree Drummond, of The Pioneer Woman blog. A city slicker who found herself transported to the country when she married a cowboy, she started a blog where she recorded her hilarious transition, shared her photography and wrote her family's story. The Pioneer Woman became an award-winning website with a huge readership. And now, Ree has written The Pioneer Woman Cooks, a beautiful cookbook full of her favorite recipes, from Jalapeno Poppers to Blackberry Cobbler. Ree is currently traveling around the country promoting the book, look for her on tour near you. But in case you can't catch her on tour, I am thrilled to announce that I have 5 copies of The Pioneer Woman Cooks to give away! Just in time for the holidays -- win one for yourself, your sister, your mother or your best friend!

My favorite recipe has to be an amaretto cheesecake that I learned to make in college. Everyone raves about it every time I make it. The only problem is, I lost the original recipe a long time ago and everything is in my head and probably a far cry from the original!!!

My latest favorite recipes is for cheese bites. They are just butter, cheddar cheese, flour and cayenne pepper and extremely easy to make. In fact, you can make ahead and store the bites in the freezer - just pop them out and cook! They are perfect for parties and terrific with red wine. I'm now expected to make them all the time!
Ooops! I guess that's not really a meal unless you eat a lot of them!

My favorite recipe to make for friends and family is mocha chocolate chip ice cream pie. I just use a crust of crushed chocolate cookies (or a ready-made one) and put in softened Starbucks Java Chip ice cream. Replace in freezer. When it hardens, I frost it with hot fudge sauce, preferably homemade or one that doesn't use corn syrup. Then I harden it in the freezer again. It disappears pretty fast!

I absolutely love to make chicken and dumplings! Ut's pretty labor intensive because I make the dumplings from scratch, but it is so good.

My favorite recipe is sweet meatballs. Just chili sauce and grape jelly and frozen meatballs. Easy peasy, but everyone seems to love them!

My favorite recipe is one for fudge. I only allow myself to make it at the holidays because otherwise my weight would balloon. It is essentially the one on the back of the marshmallow creme jars, but I've tweaked it a bit to make it much, much creamier. My version takes at least 24 hours to set and almost never gets dry.

I've got a couple favorite recipes, but one all-time favorite is called Walnut Surprises. I've been meaning to cook them up and do a blog post on them. They're super easy and delicious!

My current favourite recipe is a curried lentil stew that I semi-invented because I started out to make a curried chickpea recipe then realized halfway through I did not have all the ingredients - mainly chickpeas. But the result is a quick and tasty dinner.

I am a follower of yours as well as The Pioneer Woman. How exciting that you have so many copies of her book to giveaway. I saw her on Bonnie Hunt. :D
My favorite recipe...hum, I would have to say lately I've been experimenting with soups and they have all turned out pretty good. On Halloween I made a southwestern sweet potato soup with homemade corn bread... perfect for the cold windy night we had.
With my family I enjoy making fresh pesto...everyone seems to enjoy it.

I just made Cornbread Casserole - start with a box mix, add two eggs, a stick of butter melted, a handful of chopped onions, a can of creamed corn, and a cup and a hlaf of cheddar cheese. Mix it all together, it will be lumpy (understatement), put it in an 8x8 dish and bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes - delicious!

I'm not sure if this is considered a recipe -- but I make the best buttermilk pancakes!! I love Saturday morning pancakes -- and I've developed a great whole wheat pancake mix that is both delicious and nutritious!
Pioneer Woman had a booksigning here recently, but I was working and couldn't attend (the wait was 2 hours!). I would love to win a copy!

My favorite recipe is probably chef Neil Connolly's brownies recipe. They are soooo amazing. Almost too good. And since they're so easy, it's almost dangerous. I could cook them everyday if my weight would allow it.

My favorite recipe is Williams-Sonoma vanilla cheesecake recipe. It makes the perfect cheesecake, and you can customize it with a lot of different flavors.

I love to make cheesecakes, but I rarely make the same one twice. Junior's Cheesecake Cookbook is wonderful.

Favorite recipe is my grandmother's brownies. It uses Hershey's box brownie mix, but then a homemade fudgy icing on top. Mmmm!

Molten lava cakes...and Mexican coffee. The coffee is a cinch -brewed coffee, chocolate syrup a pinch of brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. I add a dallop of whipped cream too! mmmmm
