gwendolyn b.

I'm all about upbeat, hopeful, friendship stories right now. This sounds like a perfect read for me.

I would love to read it, and have been a lurker of your blog for a while now!

Hi. I commented on the page and set up a reminder (luvmakeup). I would love to participate, although I have no idea how it works. I love to read and learn about authors so I thought this would be perfect for me. shopgurl101 @

Oh, and shopgurl101...if I can do this, so can you!

I'd love to read this book. I read Friendship Cake a few years ago and loved it.

If you get an extra I would love to participate and get in the holiday spirit!!! Thank you (p.s. still never got sunflowers)

Ms. Hinton spoke at our library shortly after she published Friendship Cake. I will be tuning in to hear her again.

Jenne Turner

I loved Friendship Cake and can't wait for this one to come out. Thanks for having her on your blog and show. When will her book be in the stores?

Anyone caught this new title yet. It's a book called "Pulse," by a guy named Jeremy Robinson. I've been reading it so far. Imagine if people did not die and regenerated themselves...sound interesting. Just wanted to pass this on to anyone interested. Below is the trailer.

Lori Barnes

I don't know if i made it for the first 15 but i would love to participate. I have never read anything by this author but this sounds like the books i like to read so i will definatly look up books by this author.

Who is Book Club Girl?

  • Book Club Girl is: a member of a book club and an avid reader who spent most of her childhood immersed in a book, an English major who considered library school until she realized it was all about computers, so turned to publishing, where she now works (but she vows to talk about books from all over and not to simply flog those from her own house). She was single, lived in the city, met a man, moved to the 'burbs, and is now a wife, a stepmother, a mother, and in her spare time, a fledgling blogger dedicated to sharing great books, news and tips with book club girls everywhere.

My Review Policy

  • I review fiction and nonfiction that is appropriate for book clubs. This includes literary and some women's commercial fiction as well as memoir and narrative nonfiction. I do not review self-help, thrillers, mysteries, horror, or fantasy. I have a fondness for YA literature and while the blog is not devoted to it (well, except for my obsession with the Betsy-Tacy series), I will occasionally review some YA books. The best way to reach me to request a review is to email me at bookclubgirl AT gmail DOT com.
