I am becoming obsessed with Flashlight Worthy Book Recommendations, a site of book lists in every shape and form. I find lists comforting by their very nature, and lists of books are all the better. Today they released a list of Best Book Club Books of 2009. It's an eclectic list, but does include some books I love, or want to know more about. In the former category is Lizzie Skurnick's Shelf Discovery: The Teen Classics We Never Stopped Reading (btw, have you joined Booking Mama's Shelf Discovery Challenge?). In the latter is Barbara Ehrenreich's Bright-Sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America. I loved her on the Daily Show this week and think this book sounds fascinating. Check out the list, and I dare you to not check out about five more lists while you're over there. Honestly, they should charge by the minute.

Jennifer, thank you so much for all your kind words. Flashlight Worthy is mostly a labor of love so the praise goes a long, long way.
For all you other book lovers out there, know that I accept and publish book lists from book lovers like you. I don't publish everything I receive -- I try to have pretty high standards -- but I expect this audience will pass muster.
If you're interested in learning more, drop me a line at info@flashlightworthy.com and mention you saw me on BookClubGirl's blog.
Thanks again, Jennifer! May your flashlight always have fresh batteries!

This looks like a great site that I will definitely peruse over the weekend (on break from the read-athon activities)

Thanks for the tip. It's always good to get hold of good book recommendations! I'm just starting a new book group called Book Night and I'm keen to get my hands on really good reads for the group to enjoy.
