Reminder that our show with Tom Piazza, where we'll discuss his novel of Hurricane Katrina, City of Refuge, is tonight, Thursday September 10th at 7 pm ET! Set your reminder for the show, and return to that same link to listen live tonight. Be sure to register on blog talk radio prior to the show to ensure that you can participate in the chat. And feel free to call in with a question at 347-945-6149. If you can't make the live show, but have a question for Tom, please post it here, or email it to me at bookclubgirl AT gmail DOT com. Read this essay by Piazza and we can't wait to talk to you tonight!

Thank you for the reminder!! I hate being Central time, it is hard to remember the time since it is six when we are usually out of the house. I am hoping to make it on time this time!!

I have to work tonight after all, so I will have to listen later! This book was really good! I have a few questions though to participate:
*If you had to narrow it down to one message that you hoped people garnered from your novel, what would you say that would be?
*Was it cathartic to write about Katrina after having gone through it yourself?
*Since this subject hits so close to home for some people and is emotionally charged even now, what do you say to people who may disagree with your telling of events or the pictures you have painted about New Orleans and its people?
*Will you be writing more about New Orleans in the future?
