As many of you know, almost two months ago I embarked on the Game On! Diet, by Krista Vernoff (Head Writer of Grey's Anatomy) and Az Ferguson (Million Dollar Body for Life Champion). While I am not a person who has ever successfull dieted (ok, except for that time when I got a personal trainer, fell in love, worked out all the time and then married him, but that was a little different), I found the team aspect and the point winning aspect of the Game On! Diet to be highly addictive and motivating. In my first game I lost 10 lbs! I've been technically "game off" for the past three weeks, and as such, was a bit concerned about stepping on the scale this am (I ate A LOT of white bread and cake in Minnesota). But besides that trip and a few other dietary indiscretions, I was basically staying on the 5-meal-a-day plan. Well let me tell you it works, because this am I found out I'd lost another 2 lbs in the past three weeks, while basically not trying and having a couple of ice cream/wine fests to boot! So I feel really motivated for the new game. And this time there are 7 teams playing at work, with nearly 30 people in total participating! You can follow my progress, and that of a whole bunch more people I don't even know, on twitter by following the hashtag #gameondiet. You can also browse inside The Game On! Diet to see what it's all about for yourself.
Today also marks the end of the Game On! Diet for a fabulous group of book bloggers who played against each other. It's been so great to read their tweets and posts today -- 10 lbs lost, 6.4 lbs lost, 3 inches lost, etc. We're still not sure which team won (teams win by number of points earned, not necessarily lbs lost) and I can't wait to see the results. But in the meantime, I want to offer a huge congratulations to all the players -- you were all awesome, and fantastic motivation! I wish you could all climb up on some Olympic style podium thingies and we could hang medals around your necks!

Wow, you did great during your off time. We hop we can keep up some sort of "maintenance" regime too! And what fun we had, even for a diet, because of the team! Thanks for giving so many people the opportunity to get involved in this!

It was great fun playing The Game and seeing success all around!
I laughed at your podium comment, check out what my son made to announce the winning team:

Good luck with your next round of the Game On challenge - this is a fun, supportive way to stick to healthy habits.

Thank you! Although it was a difficult challenge, I learned a lot. I'm going to keep up with a majority of the principles. Good luck to you as you embark on another round!

I probably should do another two or three weeks of the diet, but I just need a little break! I will say that if you follow all of the rules, you are pretty much guaranteed to feel healthier and lose a little weight too! I was very excited this morning to find that my "little" capris from last August fit again! Woo Hoo! That was one of my goals for the game!!!!
I wish you the best of luck. Just think about all of the new clothes you're going to have to buy!!!
Thanks for getting me to get my GAME ON!

It seems like all of the bloggers who participated in this had a great time even when it wasn't so easy. Good luck!

Has no one pointed out that the Ding Dongs won? As a Ding Dong, I just couldn't let the opportunity pass. :-)
Good luck on your next round...and congrats on losing wait even when you were Game Off.

That is awesome! Great job!

Yes, we Ding Dongs took first but it was pretty close during week 3.
Way to go on starting another round! I am still doing it myself but without the team part. We'll see how successful I am without all the taunts going back and forth.

Good luck on your next round. I'm going to see if I can maintain a "maintenance" level but with only 3 meals and 1 snack. If I find myself reversing, I'll join in a game in the fall.

Congrats to the Ding Dongs, and I love Dawn's son's podiums! Congrats to all of you for a job extremely well done. So far so good this week, though I'm on vacation so it's a little challenging being home all day. I don't know how those of you who work from home did it!!
