Book Clubs are Talking About...

For those of you attending BEA, in addition to the 6 amazing bloggers who will be on the Book Bloggers panel at 2 pm on Sat in Room 1E15, you will also have an opportunity to meet 44 book bloggers at Firebrand's booth (#4077) throughout the weekend! Check out the complete blogger signing schedule here to make sure you hook up with your favorite blogger -- Meet Charlotte Abbott and Kat Meyer from Follow the Reader (11 am on Friday)! Ron Hogan from Beatrice makes an appearance at 1 pm on Friday. Trish from Hey Lady! Whatcha' Readin? will be there at 11 am on Sat. Erica Barmash from The Olive Reader makes an appearance at 3 pm on Saturday and right after that, say hello to Gayle Weiswasser from Everyday I Write the Book at 4! I can't wait to finally meet so many people who I only know via email/twitter and comments. Make sure to check out the complete schedule of blogger appearances here. I want to be 3 places at once! How great that FireBrand is sharing their booth space with bloggers (booth #4077, the MASH gang will be there :) ) It will be fun to have a reunion with all my "imaginary friends!"

Who is Book Club Girl?

Book Club Girl is: a member of a book club and an avid reader who spent most of her childhood immersed in a book, an English major who considered library school until she realized it was all about computers, so turned to publishing, where she now works (but she vows to talk about books from all over and not to simply flog those from her own house). She was single, lived in the city, met a man, moved to the 'burbs, and is now a wife, a stepmother, a mother, and in her spare time, a fledgling blogger dedicated to sharing great books, news and tips with book club girls everywhere.

My Review Policy

I review fiction and nonfiction that is appropriate for book clubs. This includes literary and some women's commercial fiction as well as memoir and narrative nonfiction. I do not review self-help, thrillers, mysteries, horror, or fantasy. I have a fondness for YA literature and while the blog is not devoted to it (well, except for my obsession with the Betsy-Tacy series), I will occasionally review some YA books.
