Or, celebrate Charles Darwin's birthday with Evolution's Captain: The Story of the Kidnapping that Led to Charles Darwin's Voyage Aboard the Beagle. Browse inside the book here. A great book group book, to honor Abe's birthday (though, this is a rather sad way to honor his birthday?) is James L. Swanson's Manhunt -- the fascinating search for John Wilkes Booth after the assassination in Ford's Theater. Browse inside the book

Both of these sound really good. Thanks for sharing!

I saw "Manhunt" in stores the other day and am very tempted to read it. I've always been a Lincoln fan. Related, I really enjoyed Sarah Vowell's "Assassination Vacation."

My group read "Manhunt" last fall. It was a great discussion and a departure from what we usually read. I'd highly recommend it... even if you aren't a Lincoln buff.
