Comments

ooo I want to win a copy and so far I've bought eclispe (sp) by Stephanie Meyer to give to my daughter.

Please add me to the list too.
I bought,Danielle Steele for my best friend she loves all her books.
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, for a good friend of mine. Matrimony, and Who by Fire for my mom. And Wally Lamb's book, The Hour I first Believed to my best-best-book club friend. I am entering because I would love to get a copy for myself.
The book sounds so much like 19 minutes by Jodi Picoult.

Will you hold it against me if I haven't quite bought them yet (but am definitely planning to, once that Dec 15th paycheck comes!). For my 14yo I will get Brisingr and Inkdeath. For my 12yo I will buy the Jonas Brothers' "Burnin' Up" tour book. My 10yo put "anything with adventure and fantasy" on her list, and I'm thinking of the 2nd book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. Also, I drew one of my older sisters in the family name-draw this year, and I think she'd really like Love Walked In and Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos. This will not be all (by far!) but it's a start. :)

I've bought Inkdeath for my daughter, Anathem and the new Orson Scott Card for my husband, and I plan on getting for by book group "Dirty Santa" - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society - LOVED the book. I'm still looking for two more books for friends.

Oh please enter me too! This sounds really good. I'm trying to get books for as many people as possible this year. My best friend loves Harry Potter so I'm getting her the Beetle the Bard book that comes out this week, Junie B' Jones for a little nephew and some construction books for another one. I also got Katie Brown Celebrates for my mom. Books are so awesome. Enjoy your maternity leave and thanks for your contest!

I bought a few copies of Christopher Meeks's short story collection Months and Seasons to give to my friends, who with their busy lives don't seem to have time to read more than a few minutes a day. I'm thinking about getting a book for my fiance but I don't know which one yet. Oh, and I know we'll be buying books for my little cousins, who just started kindergarten, but I don't know which ones yet!

Please do enter me, I'd very much like to read this one.

Please enter me in this giveaway!

So far I've bought Friday Night Knitting Club for one of my daughters, A Cedar Cove Christmas for me, The latest Barefoot Contessa cookbook for my husband to give me for Christmas (yes, really, sigh), An Irish Country Christmas for another daughter along with 2 or 3 pb Christmas themed books (titles I can't remember) for the family. I buy a lot of books for gifts each Christmas (and gift cards for various book stores). ANY excuse to go to a book store : )

Oh, I'd love to win this one! So far, I've bought daughter #1 Clinton Kelly's Freakin' Fabulous and daughter #3 Twilight...but I still have a lot more book shopping to do.

I am absolutely dying to read this, so I'll probably be buying it as a "gift" to myself!!! :) So far, I've purchased a Taste of Home Cookbook, a book about the NY Yankees, and lots of kids' books including a Karen Katz giftset, a CARS movie book with CD, an interactive Nancy Drew book, Curious George Christmas (to name a few.)

Oh my gosh, I'd love to win this. I've bought A New Earth, 100 Ways to Simplify Your Life and 2 baby books as gifts so far.

My husband wants Vince Flynn's new book, Extreme Measures. I haven't bought it yet, but I will get it for him soon. I'd love a copy of Wally Lamb's book. He's one of my favorite authors!

So far, I've purchased "Your Favorite Seuss" for my daughter, "Good Luck" by Whitney Gaskell for my sister, and another book that I can't name here because my friend reads this blog! LOL

Thanks for the great giveaway!

I've bought Edgar Sawtelle for my husband to give me for Christmas because it's our January book club book. We picked all our books for the year on the very day that Oprah announced it as her book club book so we didn't know it was an Oprah book until after our meeting.

Right now I've bought a few books for our little boy's stocking who is due any day now - "The Very Hungry Catepillar" and "Andy Warhol's Colors."

So far....I've gotten Kerri Smith's new book for a friend, a cook a bunch & freeze it cookbook for another....one of the Outlander books for my mom and a handful of books for my son. :) I'm sure I'll find a few more to put under the tree between now & Christmas.

I'm looking forward to reading this one. Thanks for the chance.
So far, I've bought "Wizardology" for my nephew -- he's wanted it for months. I also bought several copies of "Down the Nile: Alone in a Fisherman's Skiff" by Rosemary Mahoney. She's a personal favorite of mine. Most of my gifts will be books - they usually are!

I just ordered a copy of The Art of Simple Foods by Alice Waters for a friend.

Wow! Signed Wally Lamb! :) I can't wait to read it.

I'm buying Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society for my MIL, the book Bridal Bargains for my newly engaged sister, and Ivy and Bean series books for my first grader. Not sure about what to get my other readers just yet. It's such an intimate thing, selecting books for someone else.

I went a little book crazy this holiday season. I bought Magic Tree House and Kevin Henkes books for my cousins, Friday Night Knitting Club and the new Robert B. Parker for my mom, books about the Boston Red Sox for my dad and brother, a Jane Austen choose your own adventure for my sister in law, Nicholas Sparks and Nancy Martin paperbacks for my aunts.

Don't forget to sign me up for the giveaway! Thanks!

I bought a copy of "The Color of Water" to give to my sister.

I have purchased Twilight for my neice, Water for Elephants for my sister and She's Come Undone for my mother. I still have a few more books to get for my husband! Books are the easiet items to buy for the holidays!

I love Wally Lamb!

So far I've bought a copy of "Pet Food Politics" by Marion Nestle for my brother-in-law, and "The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry" by Kathleen Flinn for my sister. I might get a book for my mom too.

I bought my 8-month old son the Going to Bed book by Sandra Boyton and Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss. I also bought myself The Story of Edgar Sawtelle but I guess that doesn't really count as a gift does it? I also buy my husband a book every year (he isn't much of a reader) but haven't picked that one out yet.

This would be a great addition to my TBR list. I bought a few books for my daughter who is now a big fan of Dr. Seuss but still have to get some more.

I pre-ordered a copy of the Tales of Beedle Bard for a friend of mine for the holidays. So far, that is all I've gotten, but I have more shopping to do!

    Who is Book Club Girl?

    • Book Club Girl is: a member of a book club and an avid reader who spent most of her childhood immersed in a book, an English major who considered library school until she realized it was all about computers, so turned to publishing, where she now works (but she vows to talk about books from all over and not to simply flog those from her own house). She was single, lived in the city, met a man, moved to the 'burbs, and is now a wife, a stepmother, a mother, and in her spare time, a fledgling blogger dedicated to sharing great books, news and tips with book club girls everywhere.
