A reminder to everyone that our conversation with DeLaune Michel about her novel The Safety of Secrets is this Wednesday at 7 pm EST. I'm really enjoying the book and can't wait to talk to DeLaune about it. Everyone is welcome to listen to the call live at this link and to call into the show to ask questions at 347-945-6149. If you can't make the time, but have questions for DeLaune, post them here before the time of the show and I'll do my best to ask them. Be sure to check out the reading group guide, this interview with DeLaune about the book, as well as her website. We can't wait to talk to you all on Wednesday night. If you haven't already, set your reminder now!

I plan to be there. :) Looking forward to it.

What's the best piece of advice you were given regarding writing?
How do you feel about giving away some of your secrets, or others, in your writing, and have you?
Really enjoyed reading your book.

I would love to know what Delaune's writing space looks like and whether she has a set writing routine?

Shoot, I wanted to be there but won't be able to make it tonight now. I'll listen in later on. I have a couple of questions if you can fit them in.
One was that Fiona keeps secrets from her husband. Is it because she's always had to keep secrets, as an example from her mother so as not to get in trouble. Is keeping secrets her way of surviving?
Did you make Fiona an actress because she was always running from her past-in a sense acting through her own life?
Last, I would have liked to see the characters developed more as young girls-both Fiona and Patricia. I'm wondering why she chose to portray them more as adults.
You can just pick whichever of these you want depending on time. I really did enjoy the book. I'll be getting my review up tomorrow. Thanks Jennifer.

I read in her bio about the outreach program, has any of the kids in the program gone on to be published writers?
also if she can tell a little about her up coming book?
I'm really enjoying The Safety of Secrets so far and hopfully i'll be able to be here at 7.00
